Jose Jurel M. Nuevo, DrPH, PhD, MSMT, MA Chem, RMT. Is  the founding Dean of the College of Medical Laboratory Science of Our Lady of Fatima University and has pro-actively introduced changes in the Philippine Association of Schools of Medical Technology and Public Health (PASMETH) being the PRESIDENT. He expanded his reach of influence in the field of medical technology education when he was appointed as Secretary General of the ASEAN Association of Schools of Medical Technology (AASMT).

Dr. Nuevo earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from the Manila Central University, and has earned his Master’s Degree in Medical Technology from the Philippine Women’s University as well as Master of Arts in Chemistry from Bulacan State University. His doctorate degree in Educational Management was granted by the Bulacan State University and another  doctorate degree in  Doctor in  Public Health from Our Lady of Fatima University and graduated as  Merritisimus  or Summa Cum Laude.

His expertise in the field of research includes publication in peer-reviewed articles in reputable Scopus-indexed journal  to name a few “Frontiers in Microbiology” a high-impact  Q1 in Microbiology, the “European Journal of Microbiology and Immunology” ranked as Q2 in Medical Microbiology ,  Immunology  and allergy , and “Journal of Pure and Applied Microbiology” holds a Q3 ranking in the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR).

His expertise in the field of education have continuously landed him with trust and confidence to be a expert resource person as CHAIR CHED Technical Panel for Medical Technology and Public Health Education and CHED Regional Quality Assurance Team Member for NCR, Regions III & IV-A and now as member  of the Continuing Professional Development of the Professional Regulation Commission.

He was accorded with noteworthy recognitions by reputable organizations including the Asian Research Leadership Merit Award in 2011 and Outstanding World Research Leader & Editor in 2014,   the Crisanto Almario Memorial Award for Research in 2017 by the Phil. Association of Medical Technologists (PAMET). In the same year, the City Government of Valenzuela awarded him with the most coveted Gawad Dr. Pio R. Valenzuela in the field of Science & Technology and recently he received the Philippine Federation of Professional Associations (PFPA) Distinction Award for Academe and Research Development by the professional Regulation Commission.
