Presentation Title: Factors Affecting Acute Respiratory Rate Change Among Under-Five Children Hospitalized with Severe Pneumonia: A Longitudinal Study

Ayele Derebe is an accomplished biostatistician and assistant professor with a
wealth of experience in the field. I was born in Ethiopia and completed my
undergraduate studies in statistics at the University of Gondar. I went on to
earn my Master's degree in Biostatistics from Bahir Dar University in Bahir
Dar.
Throughout
my career, I have focused on applying statistical methods to improve public
health outcomes. I have worked on numerous research projects, including studies
on the effectiveness of non-communicable disease prevention strategies, the
impact of air pollution on respiratory health, and the evaluation of cancer
care management programmes.
In
addition to my research work, I am also a dedicated teacher and mentor. I have
taught biostatistics, statistical methods, multivariate regression, design of
experiments, spatial data analysis, and categorical data analysis courses at
several universities, including Adigrat University. I have also supervised
numerous graduate students in their research projects.
Overall, I
am a respected and accomplished biostatistician who has made significant
contributions to the field through my research, teaching, and mentorship. My
work has helped to improve our understanding of how statistical methods can be
used to address important public health issues, and my dedication to educating
and mentoring the next generation of biostatisticians is sure to have a lasting
impact on the field.
